My Soul Longs

Oh how my soul is longing to be standing in a quiet stream, feeling the line tighten as a trout rises in a still pool to take my offering! My how I can't wait to be sitting against a tree on cool spring morning straining to hear the thundering sound of a gobbler as he tries to serenade the local flock of hens. I can almost hear his flapping wings as he flies down from his nightly roost. Boy, what I would give, to watch a deer sneak by me one quiet spring morning or to hear sounds of my feathered friends as they start a new day. However, what my spirit needs the most and what I can't wait to experience, is the quiet moments that I spend with God in His creation. Enjoying His artistic masterpiece of a sunrise through a low hanging fog in the morning woods. Listening to Him has He awakens the morning with all his creatures. Breathing in the aroma of a fresh caught trout that he allowed me to catch and watching as I slowly return to the picturesque setting He has gifted me with that day. Listening to His spirit in my soul and taking time to write the precious message he has for me in my journal. Oh, how my soul is longing to return to walk with my Lord in the wild streams and woods of my dreams!!!
