On The Set of Crossing Paths TV Ministry

4/10/2016

On April 2, 2016, we enjoyed watching the recording of four episodes of Crossing Paths TV Ministry. What happened then was all God.
Picture
The Holy Spirit was heavy on this place easily drawing tears through the testimonies given by the guests and through conversations. Just being present, one knew that something big was about to happen.
Picture
Don Reed of Reed & Reed Associates, Inc. invited us to this magnificent day of seeing how television works. It was educational, informative, and experience all its own.

Don had met us at Shiloh Resort, Cook Forest in March 2016 as we enjoyed eating dinner together followed by Don and Joyce (his wife) enjoying The Devine Inspirations Family Concert.http://www.thedevineinspirations.com/family-concert.html
Picture
On April 2, we were joined at these tapings by a good friend Jason Papinchak, Christian singer and songwriter from Cochranton PA as well as Otto Ball, testimony in prison ministry. (We look for their testimonies to be recorded soon on Crossing Paths.)
Picture
After filling our bellies with pizza, pop, and doughnuts and watching four recordings, it was hardly time for a nap.

We were on.

Many aspects were unknown, were unrehearsed, were fast paced, were impromptu, were out of our comfort zone, but that is when we lean on God the most. We stood in the "upper room", a glass walled room with privacy and yet no privacy at all. Me (Rebecca), a person who loves the stage, longs for performance, rarely gets butterflies, could barely keep it together while walking through all of the unknowns.

The only constant in a world that is moving faster and faster all around you
is God at the center.
Our family stood in this glass room, upstairs, overlooking the main set, and circled together joining hands. We silenced our feet. Closed our eyes. Bowed our heads.

Lord, God, We need you. We thank you. We praise you. We love you. But right now, we need you. Thank you for placing all of these wheels in motion. Thank you for seeing this ending from the beginning and thank you for seeing how this ends up from right now, at this beginning. Please, Lord, rid me of me. Rid us of us. Please, instead, fill us with you and only you. Please guide the conversation allowing only your words to be spoken, your testimony to be shared. Please do not allow us to filter or reason our testimonies with our minds but to instead allow you to flow freely in the way that you see as right and good and holy. Please use us, Lord, as your tools to reach those that need reached, however they need reached, with whatever words that will reach them. This is much bigger than we could ever do on our own but is so small for you and we pray that your best be unleashed on us right now. Lord God, we thank you. We praise you. In Jesus name, Amen.

And the recording began...

You'll have to tune in to Crossing Paths Television Ministry to see how the rest of this story plays out.

Open Our Eyes Lord!

2/15/2016

When I first got interested in bow hunting, I grabbed every hunting magazine I could get my hands on! I would read each article that had anything to do with using archery equipment to hunt. I enjoyed reading about new tactics on scouting, deer behavior due to moon phases, unraveling the mystery of the giant whitetail buck and many more.

In one of my favorite magazines, I could always count on an article on the last page written by an amazing writer and a bow hunting legend. I found myself reading his article before any others. His articles were not always geared toward finding success as a hunter but more about the life and trials of a hunter. These were articles that talked about completing the honey do list before a hunt, how to deal with people who don’t understand why we hunt, organizing our gear, or enjoying the moments in the stand.

When I got the new issue for the start of 2016, I just couldn’t wait to see all the new products on the advertisements pages. During these cold winter days, I was looking forward to reading about successful hunts and preparing for next fall. But what I was most excited about was turning to that back page and reading the next article by this amazing writer.

I didn’t want to read this article just anywhere; you know how we hunters are! We sometimes tote these magazines to work with us to sift through the pages on lunch breaks. A hunter’s home is littered with stacks of hunting magazines on coffee tables. Special copies are displayed on a book shelf or a current issue is found next their bed on a night stand. In my house they are stored in a magazine rack in the bathroom for some easy ready when, well, you know, when you just need to have some peace and quiet for a few minutes.

No! I wanted to read this article as if I were tucked away in a far off cabin in the woods, sitting in a big comfy torn leather chair that is often found in these far off havens. I wanted to be listening to a fire crackle and pop in a large stone fireplace. My hand would be wrapped around a nice warm cup of coffee and the heat from this cup would seem to radiate through my whole body with every sip I slowly took. Before I read the article, I would take a glance out the window into the calm stillness of God’s creation. I would watch has God begins to paint the landscape in the color of white with each snowflake that falls. Yes, that would be my dream scenario in enjoying this article, but for me, today, I will have to turn on my electric fireplace, cuddle up on the couch under a nice warm quilt and allow myself, for a moment, to feel like I am there with God in that far off cabin.
Picture
As I opened the front cover to sift through all the pictures on my way to that back page article, all these emotions began to build up in me as I began to remember this past hunting season. Seeing the full two page picture of an archer inside the cover reminded me of my archery deer. Looking at the successful hunters with their bucks on the next page took me immediately to the buck God blessed me with this year. I took a moment to bow my head and thank God for an amazing season.

I then turned the page and tears begin to well up in my eyes. I saw an article “In memory of …” this amazing legend and writer I have come to enjoy reading. This article talked about his life, all the accomplishments he was known for, and the amazing people he knew and helped in the hunting industry.

On the back page was his last published article and as I turned to read this article my heart began to break and the tears began to fall.

My emotions were not based on the fact that this would be the last time I would read this man’s article. I was not emotional because another legend has passed away and, if it were not for these legends, we may not have the sport that I love so much today. No, my heart broke because with life there are consequences for every decision we make. I knew this man didn’t know his creator. I knew this man had not accepted the fact that Jesus went to the cross and died for him. I wept because now this man, is seeing the consequence of his decision to not accept Jesus Christ. All the good he did in this world! Being a legend and entertaining lives with the gift of his writing doesn’t matter anymore. He is now suffering the turmoil and pain of an eternity in Hell. He is just another lost soul in the pit of hell that Satan was able to convince that there is no God.

I knew this man had not accepted the fact that Jesus went to the cross and died for him.
You may be wondering how I know he didn’t except Christ? I can’t say for certain that he didn’t during his last days on Earth. I can hope that God put someone in his path that shared God’s love with him and he accepted Jesus before his last breath.

However, I do know that I read an article once in which he talked about reading an obituary about a young man who had died. He talked about how the family wrote about Heaven and how their loved one who was an outdoorsman, was catching giant bass and chasing the big rack bucks. This legend said in this article he didn’t believe in a higher power. He shared how he didn’t believe in a creator but felt that if there was an afterlife he hopes to spend it doing what he has done here on Earth.

The Bible says in Mathew chapter 10 verse 33 “But whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.” This man denied the fact that there is a God and did so to millions of people who read this article.
Mathew chapter 10 verse 33 “But whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.”
When this man passed away, he stood before the God above all gods. He stood in front of the one who gave him life and looked into the eyes of the one who he had heard once hung on a cross. I can imagine Jesus showing him his hands and feet that bore the holes of those nails so many years ago. I can see the tears falling down my savior’s face as He says to him, what he said when he was here on Earth in John chapter 14 verse 6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
My! What must have went through this man’s mind when Jesus said, “Father, I do not know him.” and he found himself in Hell. A place that is not fun as some would want you to think, but rather a place where your body is in such scrutinizing pain and no matter what you try to do you can’t be relieved. A place where the screams of deep despair of those who also didn’t accept Christ is heard all around forever and ever and ever.
Yes, if this man did not accept Christ, his eyes were opened to the consequence of that decision!
“Father, I do not know him.”
I remember reading this article a while ago and thinking that I needed to write to the magazine and to this man and share the Good News of Christ. I had the best of intentions to do so. But, like many Christians do, I thought, “What would people say?”, “Why should I even waste my time?”,  “They probably won’t publish it or even care anyway?” So, I put it out of my mind and continued on with my life.

Several years later, I sit here on my couch, tears falling down my face, realizing the consequence of my decision to not share Jesus with his lost soul.

We, as Christians, need to open our eyes to the world around us. We need to be bold and share the love of Christ with our family, friends, and people we come in contact with every day. Today, ask yourself this question, “How much is a lost soul worth?” I don’t know about you, but there is nothing more important than sharing the love of God with a lost and broken soul in this lost and broken world.
If you’re reading this and you have not made the decision to accept what Jesus did for you on the cross, if you have refused to ask forgiveness and believe that Jesus paid it all for you on the cross, let me ask you this question, Why?
Several years later, I sit here on my couch, tears falling down my face, realizing the consequence of my decision to not share Jesus with his lost soul.
Maybe you’re saying to yourself, “How can I believe in a God I can’t see?” I would say open your eyes! Look at the beauty of the sunrise on a winter’s day through the snow covered forest. Open your eyes and watch the fading light of a fall day as the vibrant colors of the last rays of light reflect of the beautiful fall foliage around you. Take a deep breath of life and ask yourself who breathed the first breath of life? We didn’t just appear as some believe. No. The Bible, with over 2000 prophecies that have come to fruition, has proven time and time again, says a God created the Heavens and the Earth. A God gave wisdom to prophets of old to tell about his son coming and saving a world. A God loves you so much that he watched his one and only son, take the pain of each strike of a whip that tore his flesh apart. A God that could have sent thousands of angles to the cross that day to rescue his son from the pain, but instead, allowed his son to die for you. All of this so that, one day, you would have the opportunity to accept his son as the sacrifice for your sinful life. So that when you die, you will rise, like his son, and live for eternity in Heaven with Him.

Please don’t wait until the last moment to accept Him. We are not guaranteed a long life. We are not guaranteed tomorrow and we are not guaranteed our next breath. Make the decision while you still have the opportunity and live your life with peace and hope that only the Lord Jesus Christ can provide.

Becoming Ordained

1/19/2016

I turned 39 years old this year, and what an extraordinary birthday it was!

I started the day by heading out to our friend’s church to hear him preach. What a message he gave! He preached on Faith and how we should have the same faith and watch God work in our lives like the faithful servants in the Bible. Pastor Rob Mohr from Lakeview Church of God is a man filled with the Holy Spirit. He preaches the word of God with the Holy Spirit as his guide. I am thankful God put this man in my life. One thing I took away from this service is the power of God on this place. A church who takes the phrase “church family” to heart as they closed the service by standing in a circle around the sanctuary holding hands for the final prayer. Yes! A truly amazing way to start my Birthday!

That afternoon, I was asked to preach at The Windmill Center in Sandy Lake. Over the last couple of years, this little place has become very special to my family. God has created some amazing friendships and it was an honor to spend my birthday with all of them doing what I love to do and that’s share the talent God has given me as a speaker.

Before I stood to preach, they asked me to come forward for a very special ceremony. Pastor Gary Bennefield, his brother Pastor Bill Bennefield, their father Pastor Bill Bennefield Senior, Pastor Veda Holland, and others stood around me has Pastor Bill handed me my Ordination License. Pastor Veda Holland prayed the most powerful prayer of anointing on me and you could feel the Holy Spirit’s presence.
Picture
Being ordained is something I have been praying about for some time. I felt the calling on my life to preach since I was a young teen. But, like many do, I allowed my enemy, satan, to use adversities in my life, to question the calling, to become angry, and, for some time, turn away from God! I have learned, though, that when you become a Child of God by accepting that his son, Jesus, died for you on the cross, no matter how far you wonder off like a lost sheep, the Good Shepherd, Our Father, the Almighty God, is there with his out stretched arms waiting for you to choose Him. And when you do, I would like to think that tears fall from his eyes as he holds us in his arms and continues to mold what he started in us when he created us as His children.

This calling to preach on my life has been solidified over the last several years with every opportunity I have had to preach and see lives changed. Having this ordination is saying to the world that God has placed this calling on my life and I am willing to do whatever and go wherever He calls me to go. I have made a personal commitment to him to stay true to the Word of God and to preach only with the authority of the Holy Spirit.

Picture
Yes, what a birthday! This day will go down as one of the most amazing days of my life! I am excited to see what God is about to do as I continue to follow Him with obedience and faith in all that I do to serve Him every day!

Thank you, God, for such an amazing birthday! Thank you for your love! Thank you for this calling on my life! You are my God! I am your vessel! Use my servant heart in a way that brings you all the honor and glory! In your precious name I pray! Amen.

Lord, You Broke My Heart for Each of Them.

Dear Heavenly Father,

This morning as I spend time with you in the quietness of my home, I reminded of what this Christmas season is all about! Lord, it is all about you!

Lord, I awoke this morning and I scanned my Facebook page. Post after post talked about the turmoil our country and this world is in at this time. I read some post that brought tears to my eyes as my heart broke for the ones I could tell have not accepted you in their life! Tears fell for the ones who are hurting because of loss of a love one or current life problem. Tears fell over the photos of the sick and homeless. Lord you broke my heart for each of them….

Dear God you showed the ultimate love when you sent your son Jesus. A love like no other! A love that would one day save those who believe in His death and resurrection. God, as a father, I can’t even fathom the thought of sending my son to do what Jesus did for all of us. He bore the pain, the beating, with each nail that pierced his body he screamed out in agony for us. As he labored to take every breath, he shed tears for us. Tears that I often wonder was not for the ones who would accept His sacrifice but for those who wouldn’t! With His final breath he took it all so that we may have everlasting life.

Dear God this Christmas my prayer is that I will be bold to share you with this world! I pray Lord God that people will take the time to understand just how much you love each of them. That your ultimate love is the gift above all other gifts! Lord may this world begin to see your glory and love in your people. May we do like you commanded us to do and love thy neighbors as ourselves! May we pray for our enemies as the Bible says to do. Lord may I ask that we stop playing church but be your hands and feet here on earth to share your love with others.

Lord this Christmas season, I ask that you start awakening in this world. I pray for the hearts that are so harden toward you that they will be broken for you! I pray for an awakening for the hurting that they see your love in their struggle. Lord I pray for our enemies and that they find your love and that will peace will be found! Lord please let this Christmas season be the beginning of something like we haven’t seen for generations. Where not just this season but every day is about you! In your Precious name I pray! Amen

Why is The Devine Inspirations Gift Shop So Important?

11/24/2015

Why is The Devine Inspirations Gift Shop so important? It was rarely brought up before. Why now? And why so often?

The Devine Inspirations has grown tremendously over the past 3 years. We don't charge any fee for anything that we do. It is all by offering or donation. We don't ask for payment because we don't want money to get in the way of where God wants us to go. In short, we are only paid for about 1/2 of the events that we do. We want to continue to go wherever God leads without insisting on payment or refusing to go if the pay cannot be met.

We also believe that God uses all of our talents to serve him. So, we use our talents of creativity and crafting to sell and teach entrepreneurship to our children. This small income is a way to supplement the love offerings and help to pay the gas and other expenses to go to where we are going.

Not only that, but the gift shop money is divided into what goes to The Devine Inspirations and what is given to help World Missions. In 2014, the gift shop gave $400 to buy 110 pair of shoes for children in South America and Africa. In 2015, $100 was given to help drill a well, $100 to help fight human trafficking, $375 given to missionaries, and so far we have over $300 more to give.

Therefore, The Devine Inspirations Gift Shop is a way to STRETCH your dollar and multiply it to spread the Gospel in so many ways...not only here, but around the world.

So, if you need Christmas cards, stocking stuffers, a journal, assorted greeting cards, or want to help us advertise with a Devine Inspirations T-shirt (t-shirts on sale 1/2 price)...please make a purchase online.http://www.thedevineinspirations.com/…/Featured_Products.ht…

We do sell a lot more than what is online. We have 10 events coming up that are cash and carry. Please check out the calendar page to see where and when you can come make your purchases. http://www.thedevineinspirations.com/calendar.html

Thank you!

Don’t Miss Seeing the Answered Prayers

11/10/2015

Picture
The phone rings.

Adam: “Hi Honey.”

Me: “Hi.”

Adam: “What were we just talking about and praying for?”

“Lots of things.”

“Well, one prayer got answered. I just walked out of Aldi and under my windshield wiper was 16 stamps.”

Silence. I couldn’t talk through the tears.

We have a newsletter for The Devine Inspirations that we have been working on for a year. Each time that an experience touched us we prayed and wrote, sometimes waking up at 3:00 am to write. We pieced the newsletter together and developed a list of 1500 addresses. We have it ready, with one exception; no stamps. We’ve hand delivered about 150 newsletters and prayed that God would provide the means to get the rest sent out. Some people heard of our prayers and we were given $10.00 for stamps here and $5.00 for stamps there. Each time is a blessing and we joyfully pray over the batch that is able to then be mailed.

This is wonderful, but God is bigger than this. God is specific. God knows EXACTLY what is needed. He doesn’t have to use money. What a miracle that He provided Stamps in response to a prayer for Stamps. I don’t know why that seems so foreign to me, but it is. I guess, with a business degree, I’ve always been taught that everything has to be bought with money. God is bigger than money. The stamps are HIS! He made the stamps. Of Course He Can Give Us Stamps Without Money … and He did.

I encourage you today to look for the miracles of answered prayers delivered to you. It might not come in the way that you expect but might be right there, in front of your face, between the glass and the windshield wiper. Don’t get caught up in how you want it to be answered and look past the answered prayers and blessings that are right there in front of you.

God Writes the Outline - Children

11/8/2015

Picture
It is a regular task for public speakers, writers, playwrights, and even event planners to make an outline. What are the main points that are to be discussed? Brainstorm all of the possibilities that could be part of the final piece. What gets cut? What gets kept? Then organize it and delegate who is doing what.

Each week, nearly every church greets their members with a handshake, smile, and an outline, a bulletin. It is comprised of the many pieces of the service they are about to attend. Many times, the delegated aspects of the service are so wide spread among different families and departments within the church that there isn’t discussion about the specific topics, songs, verses, or message being presented.  Everyone knows what they are doing individually for their puzzle piece but are working on a puzzle without the front of the box to see what final picture they are making.

It is a service like this that God Writes the Outline.

I’m always amazed at the greatness of the presence of the Spirit when the pieces, previously un-discussed,  fit together to form a majestic and meaningful picture puzzle. This morning I was at a service such as this.

Bellina, my tween daughter, prepared a song for weeks. She spoke three sentences about choosing Jesus and then sang, I Choose Jesus (made popular by Moriah Peters). A child standing on stage, lightly and clearly singing out, amplified through the microphones, proclaiming that She Chooses Jesus! Amen! It was a beautiful thing!

Then, a representative of the Bair Foundation from New Wilmington, PA (www.Bair.org) spoke about Orphan Sunday encouraging us to pray for those children without parents or with temporary housing needs, to foster, adopt, volunteer, give, and so much more for these children. They are a Christian organization emphasizing that they have an eternal family through Christ Jesus!

The Bible reading was Mark 10:13-16 (NIV)
13 People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.
14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
15 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
16 And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.

And Preacher’s message titled Do Not Hinder the Children, spoke of the church’s and the family’s responsibility to children.

This evening, at this late hour, I feel God telling me that the outline hasn’t been completed yet. Not all of the work is done. Not everything has been stated. So, I write this to you:

I end this evening thinking about the many opportunities to spread the Gospel , to share love, to build confidence, and to make a difference through children. I encourage each of you to speak blessings and power into children. I don’t mean only your own children but into every child that you meet, see, or who crosses your path. What would you say? You can compliment them. Speak to them as you want to be spoken to. Encourage them. Build them up with power words. Speak with sincerity and look them in the eye at their level. Don’t be fake, but be sincere. (Children can spot an “actor” from a mile away.) At every opportunity, tell the children that they are better than “this” or “that”, that they are “set apart” as Children of Christ, they are “in the world but not of the world”, that they are “the example” and that they are “fully capable of being so because of the Holy Spirit.”  In time, use the opportunity to tell them about Christ Jesus and how to be saved. Don’t put words into their mouths but listen to their words as the seeds, that you help plant, grow into their eternal salvation.

How young is the right age? One word, birth. If you work in a nursery, day care, or are around infants, you have the greatest opportunity.  Hold them in your arms and pray over them many times a day. You, as children of the King of Kings, have the power to speak blessings into the lives of these princes and princesses. Unleash God’s blessings upon them. Speak out loud several power phrases about God’s love for them; this is an unconditional love, an eternal love, a love greater than any love on Earth. Tell them how smart they are, how brave they are, how bold they are. Let them know that God has a plan for them and that every single bit of them is “perfectly made” for this plan of greatness. Yes, as infants, bring them up with these strengths spoken into them. They will remember.

As adults, spend less time trying to mend relationships between each other and instead put that effort and energy into building the relationship between the child and Christ. I call this “building the vertical”. When things are going right vertically (between the child and Christ) then the horizontal (between the child and parents, siblings, friends, …) will all work out. Seize every opportunity to encourage the growth vertically. How would I do this? Instead of pressuring the child to “tell me what is going on”, encourage the child to pray to tell God what is going on. Instead of telling the child how disappointed you are, explain to the child how disappointed God is at the sin, not the sinner. Emphasize that God, and you, love them no matter what, that they are good people that made wrong choices. Help them by praying with them at the beginning to let them know examples of how to pray for these things. “Dear heavenly Father, I sinned today. I hit my sister and lied to my mom about it. What do you, Lord, want me to do differently when I feel this way next time? Will you please help me to not respond with sin but instead to handle the situation in a way that is pleasing to and bringing honor to you?” Then, before leaving, have the child pray in their own words.

May God Bless You and All of the Children,

How Are You Marketing Yourself for Your Next Job Opportunity?

10/30/2015

Picture
A few years ago, I was a non-traditional student at a well-respected university. As my time as a student was coming to an end, and I prepared for graduation, I began to think about my future and then the futures of my fellow graduates. At that time, good jobs were hard to find. However, for me, my future was set. I was one of the lucky few who had a job lined up after graduation. As a matter of fact, my first day on that job was the Monday after Friday’s graduation. I felt very fortunate to have a job and it was a job that I wanted before I even decided to go back to college.

It wasn’t long before I began to hear stories about some of my fellow graduates and the difficulties they were having to find employment. Some had to move away for better opportunities. Others had to revert to jobs they had before college or during college. My heart was broken for them. Some were military students who served our country while attending classes. Some worked full time and raised a family while attending classes. Some students had a better GPA than me, and were some of the smartest people I knew. Yet, there they were, struggling, and, sadly, it wasn’t only them. I would turn on the radio or television and I would hear story after story about other graduates around our country, some of whom had several bachelor degrees, masters, or even a doctorate.

At the time, I blamed the economic state of our country, and I blamed the colleges and universities for not preparing these students properly. It was then that I began to question how I got so lucky. I mean, we all had the same classes that taught us about the importance of writing cover letters and resumes. Each student at the university had to do a mock interview, which was recorded and played back to us to see our mistakes. Each one of us got the emails from career services telling us about employment opportunities and local job fairs. Any of us could utilize the career services department to help with cover letters, resumes, and interviews.

How did I get so lucky?

Picture
I don’t think luck had anything to do with it. I pulled out important skills that have been successful in gaining employment in my past.  I utilized my network to help find employment opportunities, and then I marketed myself. I marketed myself in ways such as with an appropriate personal persona, with how I filled out the application, with the cover letter, with the resume, and, most importantly, with how I prepared and presented myself at the interview. So the question is how are you marketing yourself? When an employment opportunity is presented to you, what is that employer seeing on paper, in person, and in your network? Are you prepared for that employment opportunity when it arises? Are you utilizing your network of people to seek out employment opportunities? Do you market yourself at every stage of the employment process?

Through my experiences, I have had the responsibility of interviewing and hiring employees. I have read hundreds of applications, cover letters, and resumes. I have interviewed many candidates, and I have seen it all. I now teach these successful self marketing skills to others. Marketing yourself appropriately is more important than ever before. Your employment future depends on how you utilize your marketable ability. So I ask one last time, How Are You Marketing Yourself?

Talking about moving us to action: This is where it all began.

"Welcome Home!", said Denny Quigley cheerfully with an outstretched strong handshake and warm smile. We were slow to respond with the lumps in our throats. The instant silence caused when trying to hold back sudden tears. "I'm so happy to see you!"

Home. Yes. Home. For four years, as seasonal campers, each time we pulled up to Kozy Rest Kampground each weekend, we flipped off the radio, put down the windows, and I sang quietly in the passenger seat, "Feels like home to me. Feels like home to me. Feels like I'm already back where I belong." There is a busyness of young campers, a slowness of older campers, a briskness of the workers, constant waves of energy in the atmosphere. The air, oh the air, sounds of joy and peace, happiness and relaxation, smell of firewood, slight fog of smoke, and the air radiates with its own pace of time not connected to the hands of a clock. Even once having left, there is no mistake that you've been here as the air permeates into your clothing, your emotions, your personality, into...you.

"Welcome Home!", said Denny Quigley.
Yes. Home. Feels like home to me. "We are happy to be home!"

Saturday, we were welcomed as visitors at Kozy Rest Kampground. We joyfully had the opportunity to give testimony complimenting only a bit of how extraordinary this campground is, how meaningful it is to us and our past, how God has used this campground to heal, restore, and move us to action. We are forever thankful for the way that God has used Kozy Rest Campground to change our lives.

Fast forward past the healing and restoring. Talking about moving us to action: This is where it all began. This is the Karaoke that God Used To Change My Life! Yes. You've heard the message. Now, a gracious gift and blessing from God, Gary Quigley invited us to stay for Karaoke that evening. There's that lump in my throat caused by holding back tears. "God, you are so good. Are you really giving me the chance to do this again? Thank you!" And in that dark room with party lights and rows of tables and chairs, I sang Elton John, Your Song -- The bed time song that I sang to my children years before. This is the first song that I sang at Karaoke after silencing my singing for 10 years prior. This is the song, this is the place, this is the atmosphere, this is the audience, this is where The Devine Inspirations Family Concerts began. Oh What Joy to be here again! Thank you, Jesus!

Also in this dim room as people were singing about girlfriends, marriages, fishing, and many other pop and country songs, Princess Lillian, the gorgeous Jesus filled heart of Princess Lillian, stood confidently, not singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as she had last performed on this "stage" when she was 3 years old, but rather, now, years later, sang "Let Them See You in Me." That's right, Baby Girl, You let your light shine into all the world. Let them see Jesus in You! You be the light and sing about Jesus wherever you are! I'm positive that you, Princess Lillian, were planting seeds for Christ. One day, He'll show you the gorgeous garden that you planted. God bless you!

If you’re reading this and you were to find yourself taking your final breath, do you know for sure you’re going to Heaven?

Have you ever tried to sleep and no matter how hard you tried you just couldn't? Tonight is that night for me after the week that just ended. Sleep is something I pray I find soon.

Last Sunday morning, at just after 4am, my wife and I were woken up by people’s voices right outside our window. When I pulled the curtain back, all I could see was flashing red lights and a line of fire trucks. I jumped out of bed and ran through the house wondering if it was my house on fire! I was relieved it was not our home but sadly my neighbor’s house was fully engulfed and within a few minutes was gone. I have been thanking God all week that my neighbor was not home at the time of the fire. What an eye opening experience for us. I have not had sound sleep all week thinking about what would have happen if it would of have been my home. Do we have enough fire alarms? Do my children know how to get out? I mean, we have gone over fire safety and we have practiced, but that "what if "questions still linger. I didn’t get a chance to talk to my neighbor until Monday afternoon and I told him how happy I was to see him. He said he was very lucky because Saturday he was out bar hoping until late and decided to stay at a friend’s house. He said that he was lucky. If he would have been home, he would have never made it because he sleeps in the basement where it is cool. I patted him on the back and said “Luck had nothing to do with it. God is not done with you yet my friend. He is giving another chance at the life he has given you. Now, what are you going to do with it?” It made him pause for a moment and I could see in his eyes that hit home.

Then midweek, I heard that a dear family from our church lost their son in a terrible accident at work. A family that has already been through so much and now has to walk this valley of grief once more. My heart broke for this family as I began to ask God to comfort them during this time.

More tragic news came when a local police officer and his son died in a car accident. I didn’t know them personally, but my sister and several of my friends knew them. Once again, I cried out to God to comfort this family and community.

If that wasn’t enough in one week, my dad called me this morning to let me know that a dear friend of our family passed away unexpectedly last night. So once again I found myself praying for God’s comfort and asking what He is trying to teach us and the only thing I can come up with is this. Life is too short or as the Bible says, our life is but a vapor that appeareth for a little while then vanishes away (James 4 -14). Our homes, cars, money they are only material things. So what is really going to matter when we take our final breath here on earth? What will happen next? I don’t know about you, but I know when my time on earth is done and I take my final breath, I will find myself in the presence of the one true God. The one who spoke this world into existence. The one who sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for my sins. When I die, I will be reunited with ones who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. My dear mama, grandparents, uncle, cousins, and friends will be there to welcome me home.

There is not a day that goes by that I don’t thank Jesus for the sacrifice of his death on the cross. A sacrifice that became a free gift to all people who accept his sacrifice and his resurrection from the grave.

So let me ask you, if you’re reading this and you were to find yourself taking your final breath, do you know for sure you’re going to heaven? Have your accepted the fact that Jesus went to the cross for you. He bore your sins. He bore your pain. He bore your trouble. He bore your heartache. He bore it all because he loved you so much. If you were to die today, do you know for sure that you would go to Heaven? If not, do you want to have the peace of knowing? If you do, take just few minutes and pray and thank Jesus for his sacrifice. Tell him you want to spend eternity with him by believing in His death and resurrection. Tell him that you understand that it was your sins that he bore on the cross and that he loved you so much to give up his life for yours. Invite him to be the Lord and Savior of your life.

Don’t wait! Don’t test your luck like my neighbor! Pray today because tomorrow may never come. If you prayed today, I pray that no matter what life throws at you, you will have the peace that passes all understanding and that as you begin this new journey with God you will see all he has for you.
